Pahoa’s Nick Fisher moved one victory away from reaching a Hawaii High School Athletic Association championship game for a fourth time.

Fisher posted 18 kills, three bocks and four aces as the Daggers swept Campbell 27-25, 25-20, 25-16 at Farrington High on Oahu in a state Division II first-round volleyball match.

Caleb Woo O’Brien added six kills and three blocks, Jarrett Kamaka posted five kills and four blocks and Isaac Ekau added four kills and three blocks for the Big Island Interscholastic Federation champions (12-5). Pahoa will face Seabury Hall at 5 p.m. today at Moanalua High in the semifinals.

With a win against the Maui Interscholastic League champion, Pahoa would advance to the state title game for the first time since 2010, when the Daggers took runner-up during Fisher’s freshman year. Now a senior, Fisher has also been to a pair of state finals in basketball.

Adam Amosa and Jacob Kaawa each led Campbell (8-8) with eight kills.

Hawaii Baptist def. Hawaii Prep 25-18, 25-22, 29-27: Michael Fisher slammed 27 kills with five aces at Moanalua to power the Eagles into the semifinals.

Jevin Ching compiled 20 kills, three aces and three digs for the Ka Makani (11-4), and Noah Schenk and Jovan Crnic each added seven kills. The BIIF’s No. 2 seed plays OIA champ Farrington (9-5) at 5 p.m. at the Governors’ gym in a fifth-place semifinal.

Hawaii Baptist, the Interscholastic League of Honolulu champion, gets Kauai in a 7 p.m. semifinal today at Moanalua.

Division I

The ILH powerhouses flexed their muscles in sweeping both BIIF entrants.

Tui Tuileta smacked 12 kills with six digs as Punahou beat Kamehameha-Hawaii 25-14, 25-22, 25-19. The quarterfinal at McKinley High on Oahu was a rematch of last season’s state final thriller, which the Buffanblu won in five sets.

Evan Enriques led the Warriors (15-2) with 16 kills Thursday night. BIIF runner-up Kamehameha faces Maui Interscholastic League champ Baldwin at 5 p.m. today in a fifth-place semifinal at Waipahu High.

Seeking its seventh state title in nine seasons, ILH champion Punahou (16-2) takes on the OIA’s Kaiser in a 5 p.m. semifinal today at McKinley.

Kamehameha-Kapalama def. Waiakea 25-17, 25-20, 25-11: Cullen Mosher came through with 13 kills and Nick Ng added 11 to derail the BIIF champion Warriors.

Waiakea (14-2) — which was led by Mamane Namahoe’s 12 kills and five apiece by Tony Dollwet and Brett Harrington — draws the OIA’s Leilehua at 7 p.m. today at Waipahu for berth in the fifth-place match.

Makoa Camase-Stevens contributed seven kills for Kamehameha-Kapalama (15-1). The ILH runner-up advances to face OIA champion Moanalua in a 7 p.m. semifinal today at McKinley.
